Luxury en-suite bathroom renovation case study | Huddersfield | More Bathrooms

Published: 28 April 2023

In this case study follow how we transformed a modern en-suite bathroom into a luxury 4- piece bathroom fit with multiple bathroom features and fittings.

Problem

A couple in Huddersfield, who wanted to remain anonymous, had an existing modern en-suite bathroom and were looking to reconfigure it for a more luxurious design. The couple sought to find a company in West Yorkshire that are skilled in design and installation in order to deliver a full refurbishment.

Solution

Searching the internet for a company offering a full service, the couple came across More Bathrooms and opted to visit our Mirfield Bathroom showroom to gather more information. They were greeted by our showroom consultant Jane, who informed them of our bespoke design capabilities, a history of providing practical bathroom solutions as well as our distinct project-managed design and fit service. Excited about our service offering, they proceeded to schedule a free design appointment.

Experienced Designer Julie visited the couple at their home to discuss in detail the reasons they were wanting to renovate their en-suite, potential design ideas, and expectations.

Listening to the couple they explained to Julie, that even though their existing en suite bathroom was modern, they wanted a new design that would radiate a wow factor and remain practical. The couple mentioned exploring the possibility of having a separate bath, and shower area, preferably a wet room. They required storage, but not too much, and new lighting.

Concluding their ideas the couple handed Julie a small piece of glass they had brought home from a beach whilst on a family holiday. They loved the pale aqua colour finish having been created over several years in the sea and wanted Julie to incorporate it into the design.

Other than their ideas they were willing for Julie to bring her extensive knowledge of kitchen and bathroom design into play and look to include their ideas to create a new bathroom design.

Taking this into consideration Julie proposed a complete redesign of the bathroom, which incorporated the build of an internal wall creating space for a separate wet area. The design also showcased a D-shaped bath, new lighting, and a floating basin shelf displayed on the internal wall. All new bathroom fixtures and fittings also featured as part of the design.

Delighted with Julie’s design ideas, the couple were invited for a second appointment at our Mirfield Bathroom Showroom, where Julie had prepared a presentation to show them CAD images from different angles to help the couple envision how their new bathroom would look. Julie also helped the couple to choose their bathroom finishing touches, once the couple were happy with their decisions, they placed an order.

Julie’s reasoning behind the design

When the couple, came to us for a new bathroom and explained that they were after a new bathroom with a bit of a wow factor, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in and challenge my own design capabilities. The couple gave me the foundations to build upon, especially with the piece of glass, to which I was given free rein to test the boundaries. This design encompasses the latest trends in a stylish yet sophisticated manner and is a truly unique luxury concept.”

Luxury 4 -Piece En-Suite Bathroom Renovation | Huddersfield | More Bathrooms

Prior to the installation of the new En-suite, the couple were introduced to surveyor Joe who would liaise with the fitter throughout the duration of the project.

Fully project managing the bathroom we stripped out the existing En-suite and renovated into a wonderful luxury 4-piece En-suite bathroom, fit by our talented multi-skilled fitter Andy, as part of our full design and fit offering.

Across the rear wall of the bathroom, a long-illuminated niche was created and beautifully finished with patterned tiling. A large deep Ancora D-shaped bath, perfect for a long soak, was also installed, to complement the new features with a large mirror fit above.

Andy built a stud wall, leaving an open way for a bespoke wet area with an eye-catching pale aqua glass finish providing the couple with an extra bathing option while enhancing their bathing experience. To conclude the wet area, another illuminated niche was created, allowing the couple a place to put their toiletries with a fixed showerhead and new WC also installed.

Opposite the bath, on the stud wall, a stunning quartz basin shelf was fit, leaving room for a contemporary curved basin to be fit on top of the shelving, adding to the luxurious look of the bathroom.

All new LED lighting was fit around the ceiling perimeters, reflecting off the walls, providing the room with great lighting. Keeping to the colour consistency of the new design 2 sets of resembling beige tiles were fit on the floor and walls in the new bathroom, making the bathroom feel like two rooms.

Concluding the bathroom design, 2 tall wall-hung radiators, were fit for hanging towels and the upkeep of heat in the large new design.
