Luxury en-suite refurbishment case study | Bradford | More Bathrooms

Problem

Mrs Parker was looking to have her en-suite shower room refurbished. The existing design in place had a semi-quadrant shower enclosure, with a step just outside of it. The floor was completely tiled with square grey tiles.

There was a built half-height stud wall that was behind the basin, providing a place for her bathroom toiletries.

She was looking to have her en-suite refurbished and while looking at her options, she’d taken inspiration from her friend's recently installed bathroom and was recommended by her to get in touch with More Bathrooms given her appreciation of the design.

Solution

Mrs Parker made the trip to our Leeds bathroom showroom where she was greeted by our Showroom consultant Laura.

Taking notes, Mrs Parker began explaining to Laura that she was looking to revamp her en-suite shower room and was referred to us by her friend who had her bathroom fully designed and fit by More Bathrooms, a couple of months earlier, and she liked the job we had done and our fully project managed service offering.

She had a few ideas she wanted to explore and sought to have one of our designers who could help and advise for the re-design.

Sharing some images of the ideas, she was interested in either a walk-in shower, or a wet floor shower new lighting, and the possibility of creating niches.

Once Mrs Parker had given her list of ideas, she was then guided by Laura around the Leeds showroom to look at some of the displays and went through the step-by-step process of our full design and fit service.

Mrs Parker was also informed of Passmore Group and its reputable brands that carry out works across a range of industries including kitchens, accessible bathroom solutions, bedroom and build services.

She was more than happy with the information that she had been given and since she was a fan of the design Simon had put together for her friend, she was scheduled for free design appointment for him to visit at her home.

Our award-winning designer Simon visited Mrs Parker’s home and went to the existing en-suite concept. He surveyed the room design by taking measurements and having a look at where the main shower room features were placed.

Once he had finished, he and Mrs. Parker would go through in detail her expectations of what she would like to achieve, design ideas, creation of a new concept, and then the process of the next steps.

Confirming the notes that Simon had been given by Laura, Mrs Parker reiterated that she was looking at a couple of shower designs that had low flooring. Including a wet floor shower or a walk-in shower, she was keen on having niches being part of the design, and the rest of the En-suite to be completely revamped and have new features throughout the room.

She wanted Simon to offer his expert bathroom design skills for the new bathroom.

Incorporating her ideas, Simon suggested a luxurious-level access shower concept. Adding to his first suggestion he mentioned the creation of a couple of illuminated niches, a wall-hung toilet, and the installation of a wall-hung vanity basin unit that would be fitted on the half-height stud wall that was part of the existing concept. There would be a consistent contrasting grey theme that would follow throughout the design for the tiles on the floor, walls, and vanity unit.

Mrs Parker liked the sound of Simon’s design proposal he had listened to her ideas and managed to incorporate them as part of the new En-suite shower concept.

Simon behind the design'

‘Mrs Parker had seen a friend’s installation, that we had designed and installed and was pleasantly impressed with the job we had done. So, she sought to see if we could project manage her design and incorporate some of the ideas she has for her new design. Looking for a more luxury-styled bathroom and wanting to also achieve a wet floor or walk-in shower concept. We managed to collaborate and create a stunning level-access, walk-in shower design. With some luxury finish across the tiles, and wall-hung features.’

Keen to move on to the next stage of our full design and fit service, Simon invited Mrs Parker for a second appointment at our Harrogate bathroom showroom.

They agreed on a scheduled date, and Mrs Parker was given a quote indication of the project.

At the appointment, he presented her with CAD visuals of the new design proposal that they had agreed upon at the previous appointment. To complete the last part of the design was to pick the final bathroom finishing touches. Simon took her around the design and presented her with options, and once she had made her choices, she placed an order with us to complete the project.

Mrs Parker was contacted by our installations team who provided her with a date of when the transformation would begin. She was also introduced to our Surveyor Joe who she could contact at any point during the installation.

Luxury en-suite installation

Our multi-skilled fitter Andy completely ripped out the existing design that was in and transformed the En-suite into a stunning luxury modern level-access En-suite.

Replacing the semi-quadrant shower, was a stunning level access shower. The easy-entrance shower had a dual shower installation, a tall, fixed head and an adjustable one, giving her the option of a showering option and the feel of an enhanced luxury feel to the open entry shower.

On the inside of the shower, and the rest of the En-suite shower walls a shine dark grey tiles with a metallic effect were fit providing the En-suite with a polished luxurious and contemporary aura.

One of the tiles on the inside of the shower had an illuminated niche with soft lifting created just as Mrs Parker had originally requested. This would provide her the option to put toiletries improving the overall showering experience.

The final fitting of the shower was a glass flipper screen which would help to keep the water maintained in one area and reduce the risk of slipping inside of the En-suite.

Next to the shower was a wall-hung toilet installation increasing the toilet’s luxury contemporary design outlook, and above the toilet installation were 2 more illuminated niche installations. This would give Mrs Parker extra storage space to put her toiletries and decorative En-suite items.

Completing the new vanity unit was a rectangular basin with circular edges. This unit was fitted on the other side of the newly built half-height stud wall which was fit to give a separation of the room and showering area.

The stud wall would also provide another area for Mrs Parker to display other decorative items. Just above the stud wall and new unit a large mirror was with an illuminated frontier mirror focus. The mirror had a touch focus that would provide a bright band of intense light but would be perfectly balanced out with a smoked grey background glass. The mirror would also allow for Mrs Parker to adjust the lighting whilst in the en-suite room.

Completing the design was a dark brown Ferroker porcelain tiling with a matt gloss and oxide finish was fit matching the rest of the contrasting dark grey design outlook.

Mrs Parker was delighted with the installation, we had managed to deliver our full design and fit service and included her ideas in this intricate design, and achieving a luxury design.
